Comfortable pews at the Milan Fair 2011
A chance of taking a sit down, at the Milan Fair, is always welcomed and there are more than numerous opportunities. Three seats, that particularly gave rise to a truely memorable sit down this year, at the Fair, are mentioned here and are worth making a noting of for any lounge settings.
The Vitra Grand Repos (by Antonio Citterio 2011) introduces a new degree of comfort to the world of home furniture. It's backrest and seat surface can be moved to different opening angles, from a comfortable sitting position to a relaxed reclined position, by means of a synchronous mechanism hidden in the interior of the upholstery. The deSede DS-168 Design (by Gordon Guillaumier) is set to become a favourite seat. Formally, the DS-168 is the modern interpretation of a classic theme, the so-called 'wing' chair.
